Off Grid Solar

One thing we have plenty of in Oklahoma is sunshine!  Fortunately there are ways to harness this natural energy source and put it to work for us.  When solar panels were introduced back in 1953, they were on ly able to convert around 4.5% of the sun's energy into electricity, using extremely large panels.  The cost came out to around $1785/watt.  This factor alone made it almost impossible to dollar out for the average consumer.  Over time, the size of solar panels has gone down tremendously, and effeciency has increased significantly.  Now we are able to convert over 25% of the energy into electricity and a mere cost of less than $0.60/watt.  With technology ever on the move, solar energy will become increasingly effecient in the future.
